Tottenham Kane suffers ankle ligament damage back in training early March

It leaves Mauricio Pochettino with just Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente to call upon, with the latter linked heavily with a return to former side Athletic Club.

Kane was injured in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, and it was announced on Monday that he would be sidelined until early March with damaged ligaments in his left ankle.

Along with missing the second leg of Tottenham's League Cup semifinal against Chelsea next week, Kane will be absent for a Champions League round-of-16 first-leg encounter with Borussia Dortmund on February 13.

Spurs released a statement on Tuesday evening to confirm that the injury will keep Kane out for at least six weeks and they believe he will resume training by "early March". We take a look at some of the players who could help Pochettino cope without the World Cup's Golden Boot victor.

Pop star Rihanna is suing her father for allegedly violating her trademark by using her last name without her permission. RiRi claims that her father failed to act on multiple cease and desist requests sent by her.

The experienced centre-forward did score a hat-trick in January against Tranmere Roves in the FA Cup, but he's not started a league game all campaign.

The Englishman has scored 14 goals this season and alongside Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is the leading top goalscoring in the Premier League. However, with Spurs 1-0 up from the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, his absence this time is particularly untimely, and he is likely to miss at least 11 games while he undertakes his rehabilitation.

How Spurs cope with the crisis may very well be determined by their willingness, or potential lack thereof, to dip into the transfer market for a new striker.

The 33-year-old has been a fringe player during his time with the north London club and his contract is due to expire in the summer.
