‘Fallout’ Director Christopher McQuarrie to Write, Direct Next 2 ‘Mission: Impossible’ Films

During his most recent interviews, Christopher McQuarrie hinted that he was ready to move on, and wanted to try something else for a little while.

McQuarrie coming back for Mission: Impossible - Fallout after directing Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation bucked the franchise's tradition of having a new director come in for each installment.

For more on Mission: Impossible, check out the links below. Paramount has made a decision to settle on McQuarrie in a move that some are comparing to David Yates, and his work directing the last several Harry Potter installments and the Fantastic Beasts spin-offs.

Paramount Pictures is so thrilled that the latest Tom Cruise action Film "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" received such a great success with the critics and the box office, they have confirmed there are two more movies in the works [VIDEO]. He then came back for the next film, Mission: Impossible Fallout which brought in $791 million worldwide, making it the highest grossing film in the franchise.

The Mission: Impossible series has been one of the few big Hollywood franchises that has continued to improve upon itself with each passing film. Naturally, Tom Cruise is expected to return alongside Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Rebecca Ferguson.

Production would likely start this year! Paramount hopes that Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie can lock in on this magic yet again. He also wrote the script for Cruise's Top Gun sequel which will release next year. They say if McQuarrie can further develop the characters introduced by him in "Rogue Nation" and "Fallout", this should continue the trend of including some of the best stunts in film history.
