‘Uri’ Box Office: Vicky Kaushal-Starrer Earns Rs 20 Crore

Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike is receiving a lot of love from the audience, and it seems, the film has blown away the actor's contemporaries too. According to The Quint's Stutee Ghosh Kaushal, in his "all guns blazing avatar, plays his role with exactly the right amount of vigour and vulnerability". Not that he's seeking some review on Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai's "Josh", but that's how he is promoting his film URI based on Surgical Strikes carried out by the Indian Army post the URI attack. The film opened on a great and was given thumbs-up by the critics and audience. The film had an occupancy report of 20-25% on the day of its release. The actor, who was seen in films like "Raazi", "Sanju" and "Manmarziyaan" past year, will soon be gearing up for Karan Johar's "Takht", which will also feature Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor.

"Uri" is an action film unlike Baagi 2, this one is more multiplex driven and we will have to see whether "Uri" will have a good run after the weekend as a concept film or not. The film is directed by debutant Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under his banner RSVP Movies. The film made about Rs 8-8.25 crore nett on its opening day.
