Missing Wisconsin teen found after three months, kidnapping suspect in custody

On Saturday, the Facebook group Healing for Jayme Closs posted an update announcing their fundraiser reached $50,000 in just one day.

Patterson went to the Closs home outside Barron, Wisconsin, with the intention of taking Jayme, Fitzgerald said.

"Jayme was the hero in the case".

It won't happen quickly, though, Bowers said, and people need to realize that Jayme will relive her trauma in different ways throughout her life - including if she forms romantic relationships or has children of her own.

In the post, Jennifer writes 'Everyone is so proud of you, Jayme!'

Closs was speaking to investigators on Friday after spending a night in the hospital for evaluation. Prosecutors anticipate filing homicide and kidnapping charges against him on Monday.

Wisconsin police have charged a 21-year-old man with murdering a 13-year-old girl's parents last October so he could abduct her.

"At this time, nothing in this case shows the suspect knew anyone at the Closs home or at any time had contact with anyone in the Closs family", Fitzgerald said. He surrendered peacefully, authorities said. They did not find Jayme or a suspect or gun, they said at the time.

Ownership of that rural cabin was transferred to a credit union by Patterson's father shortly after Jayme was kidnapped.

The houses and cabins are very spread out in the area that is about 10 minutes from downtown Gordon. I don't know where I am!

The investigation suggested that the suspect did not know any family members at the Closs home nor had he been in touch with them, but allegedly went there with the goal of kidnapping the teen, Fitzgerald said.

Nutter took Jayme to the closest house, the home of Kristin and Peter Kasinkas, and they called 911.

However, neighbors noted they rarely saw Patterson and hadn't seen Jayme around.

Yankees Sign Infielder, Appear to be Out on Machado
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic recently wrote that the Phillies actually prefer Machado over Harper in free agency. Despite being considered the favorites to sign LeMahieu, he has found a different home.

However, authorities believe that Jake Patterson acted alone in kidnapping Jayme Closs and murdering her parents James, 56, and Denise Closs, 46.

Both the woman and the neighbour recognised the teen immediately on Thursday due to the enormous public campaign following her disappearance, Fitzgerald said.

Straub also said Jayme's case brings up the issue of victim privacy. "They've been in foster care", Osborne said.

Patterson remained largely an enigma om Saturday.

Also unclear is why he allegedly targeted her in the first place.

Anyone with information about Bond may call the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office at 615-898-7720.

About three years ago, Patterson worked at the Jennie-O Turkey Store plant in Barron - where Jayme's parents were employed - and then quit, saying he was moving, company President Steve Lykken said.

Despite Erik Patterson's criminal record, few across the township seem to have heard of his family.

While authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind the kidnapping, more details about Patterson have emerged. "Call 911 right now!" He said Jayme told Federal Bureau of Investigation agents she didn't know him at all.

"He was just really quiet whenever I'd see him in the hallways and stuff", said Hannah Kroeze, who went to the same school as Patterson.

"He didn't know Jayme, he didn't know Denise or Jim", Naiberg said. While the world may wonder what she went through in captivity, typically if a minor has suffered abuse their identities are kept private.

The girl appeared unkempt and thinner than in photos publicly released, Kasinskas said. She recalled the teen looked disheveled, dirty and thin. She told her brother she was going to a job interview with a friend's boss, later identified as a convicted sex offender.

When they arrived, Kasinskas fed Jayme while they waited around half an hour for the police to arrive, Kasinskas told MPR. The girl's grandfather, Robert Naiberg, insisted Saturday that none of them know him, raising questions about how Patterson became aware of Jayme.
