LaFleur excited to work with Rodgers, Pack's 'incredible' talent

LaFleur excited to work with Rodgers, Pack's 'incredible' talent

"This is an unbelievable place", said LaFleur.

In two years as the quarterbacks coach for the Falcons, LaFleur worked with Matt Ryan, who ranked in the top 10 in the National Football League over that span (min. 500 pass att.) in passer rating (No. 2 - 102.1), passing yards (No. 2 - 9,535), completion percentage (No. 4 - 67.9), completions (No. 5 - 780) and passing touchdowns (No. 8 - 59).

- Rather than stick around in Los Angeles for the foreseeable future, new Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur craved a challenge in 2018. It's been almost two decades since LaFleur took a snap, and most of his records have been broken, but his name still liters the record book.

"The conversation went great", LaFleur said. "It is more or less about looking at the ten other guys in the huddle and knowing you are going to get the job done".

"I think we're both on the same page".

"I think we've got the flawless candidate to lead us to where we want to go", Gutekunst said. Green Bay interviewed at least 11 candidates, many of whom had offensive backgrounds and previous experience as head coaches.

"Obviously we cast a fairly large net, much larger than the 10 people that we interviewed", Murphy said.

Cesc Fabregas delighted to join Monaco's 'new project'
Sarri said: "As you know very well I am not in control of the transfer market". Monaco are now 19th in Ligue 1 having scored just 16 goals.

"The foundation, it goes back to Mike Shanahan", LaFleur said.

After the initial three interviews, the Packers talked to Patriots offensive and defensive coordinators Josh McDaniels and Brian Flores, Saints offensive assistants Dan Campbell and Pete Carmichael, Buccaneers offensive coordinator Todd Monken and former Dolphins head coach Adam Gase. We needed a good offensive one.

The 39-year-old earned his first National Football League coaching job in 2008 when he was named the Houston Texans' offensive quality control coach, a position he held for two years before being hired by the Washington Redskins as quarterbacks coach in 2010. The last time the Packers made the playoffs, in 2016, that unit ranked eighth in total offense and fourth in scoring (27.0). "We're also excited about the person-he is bright with a great work ethic and a flawless fit for Green Bay and the organization".

"Man, these fans are insane", LaFleur said with a smile at Wednesday's news conference. I think it's a system that's really predicated on building the run game with the pass game. "We're excited to get started". "It lessens the predictability of what you're trying to do, and it keeps a defense more off-balance". "I have had the opportunity to be here a few other times".

The key to it all will be the relationship between the quarterback and playcaller. "I wanted Nick Saban".

Fitting LaFleur was with his family when he got the call. It was Murphy and Gutekunst.

"First thing that Matt said was I'm speechless, I knew then that this was genuine excitement", Murphy said. "So were really excited going into it". His wife, BreAnne, was driving, and they were on their way to pick up their two young sons, Luke and Ty, from school. "She was at the wheel".

They called LaFleur the day after the interview to offer him the job. "This is a dream come true for me".
