A swap deal involving former Juve striker Alvaro Morata, the Spaniard who is out of favour at Stamford Bridge, has been mooted.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to reunite with the Argentina worldwide, who scoring 37 times in the 2015-16 season for him at Napol.

Maurizio Sarri is desperate to bolster his attacking options in the January transfer window and Higuain is his top target.

However, the FA Cup defending champions are said to be targeting Sevilla's Andre Silva - who is on loan from AC Milan and could cost the Spanish League side £32 million to buy in the summer.

The Argentine frontman bagged a stunning 36 Serie A goals from 35 appearances under Sarri's tutelage in the 2015/16 campaign.

"Chelsea don't want to do that as Higuain is 31 years old but as far as the player is concerned, we understand he wants to come to Chelsea and Sarri wants him".

AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has fired a warming to Gonzalo Higuain, saying the striker must get to work and improve at San Siro. Seeing as he is here, he needs to knuckle down and actually do something for this team.

Chelsea, for their part, are in need of a striker after deploying Eden Hazard as a false nine for a large chunk of the season. He's only netted six goals in the league as he struggles for form.
