MI family of 5 identified in fatal crash

The family was identified as 42-year-old Issam Abbas, 38-year-old Rima Abbas, 14-year-old Ali Abbas, 13-year-old Isabella Abbas and 7-year-old Giselle Abbas.

Their vehicle was struck by a truck driven by Joey Lee Bailey, 41, of Georgetown, who died of blunt force trauma, according to the coroner's office.

They were traveling home to MI from a Florida vacation.

According to a release from the Lexington Police Department, the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. off I-75 near mile marker 107.

Authorities believe that Bailey was driving under the influence.

The northbound lanes near the crash were closed for several hours during the clean-up and investigation, but have since reopened.
