Washington Redskins' Reuben Foster's domestic violence charge dropped

Washington Redskins' Reuben Foster's domestic violence charge dropped

The case, brought by Foster's ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis, stemmed from a November 24 incident in which his former partner alleges he "slapped" her and broke her phone.

Foster was charged with one count of first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence, and the 49ers cut Foster from the team the next day. Still, not long after being fired by the 49ers, Foster was signed by the Washington Redskins, though he has not been able to play because he was placed on the Commissioner's Exempt list because of the abuse charges. Foster did get a weapons charge in that case, which led to a two-game National Football League suspension. She claimed she only recanted the first allegations against Foster because she believed he loved her.

"Because I loved him, and love will have you doing things that's not in your best interests", Ennis told "Good Morning America".

Foster's November 24 arrest in Tampa led to the linebacker being released by the San Francisco 49ers hours later.

It said there were no other reported illnesses among more than 11,000 passengers who traveled through Hopkins on New Year's Day. Frontier Airlines Flight 1397, an Airbus A321, took off from Cleveland at 12:59 pm and landed in Tampa at 3:35 pm on Tuesday.

Ennis had previously accused Foster of domestic violence in February.

A judge ruled there was no probable cause on the first two charges after Ennis recanted the allegations and the judge found no other evidence to support the charges. A felony weapons violation connected with that incident that was reduced to a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to two years probation, 232 hours of community service and $235 in fines. Ennis testified during the preliminary hearing that she lied during her initial statements to investigators as revenge against Foster, who told her he wanted to break up with her.

What will National Football League do about Foster? According to WFLA, Foster is alleged to have "slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area and slapped her with an open hand on the left side of her face".

"He called me out there to work on our relationship", Ennis said of the incident in Tampa.
