Ellen DeGeneres wants Kevin Hart to host Oscars despite homophobic comments

However, the dream soon came crashing down.

The Night School star initially refused to say sorry for past jokes made on his Twitter account because he had done so years ago, and chose to step down from his role hosting the Academy Awards in February - but it is said that he could be brought back for the role.

Hart explains that his initial reaction was to ignore the drama. "This isn't new. I've addressed it". But the more he ignored the problem, the worse it got. He added that he does not have "a homophobic bone" in his body and has apologized for ten years for his bad gay jokes. I know that I've addressed it, I know that I've apologized.

He went on, "I've taken 10 years to put that apology to work ..."

"I've yet to go back to that version of the immature comedian that once was".

Hazardous container cleanup continues on Frisian coast
So far, around 20 containers have been located near the shores of these islands while another six were found in German waters. The MSC Zoe is one of the largest cargo ships to be used in Europe, holding up to 19,000 containers.

A major issue here, obviously, was that many people were unaware of Hart's past jokes, and so an apology would have gone a long way. Hart, who says he felt frustrated because he already apologized in the past, instead made a decision to step down, only to offer a fresh apology hours later.

In an upcoming exclusive interview on "Ellen", Hart told host Ellen DeGeneres that he is "reconsidering" his recent decision to step down as host of the show following controversy over homophobic tweets that Hart made several years ago and were resurfaced in recent weeks. "I am evolving and want to continue to do so". "I'm now taking away from all those moments". But you can't grow as a person without mistakes. You don't know what perfection is unless you've experienced imperfection. I know, they're a silly awards show, but I've loved this celebration of movies ever since I started watching them as a kid. "It's depressing that Ellen's enthusiasm for Hart hosting the Oscars ... led her to contribute to a narrative that Hart is the victim of "haters" & "trolls" out to "destroy" him", said Adam Vary, a journalist for BuzzFeed and one of the Twitter users who highlighted Hart's homophobia when it was first announced he would be hosting the Oscars.

"There are so many haters out there", DeGeneres says.

DeGeneres described going to dinner with Hart after she hosted the 2014 Oscars, when he expressed his desire to get the gig.

However, it should be noted that Hart's insistence that the tweets' fast appearance were likely not a result of "malicious" attack - Twitter has a search function that makes it easy to find tweets with certain key words or subjects. That's not an attack to just stop the Oscars. has learned the beloved talk show host is now under fire after publicly defending her longtime pal, Kevin Hart, over his homophobic tweet scandal.
