Guardiola on De Bruyne and UCL draw

Guardiola on De Bruyne and UCL draw

David Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Claudio Bravo remain on the sidelines but Guardiola says the recent spate of injuries will not change City's plans in January.

Guardiola bemoaned heading into the 2-1 Champions League win over Hoffenheim with 15 fit senior players and John Stones will be assessed ahead of facing his former club after going off at half-time with a sore knee on Wednesday.

City's record scorer Aguero has missed the last four games with a groin injury while all-star playmaker De Bruyne has been troubled by knee injuries all season. "He has no pain but after we are going to decide". The way we train and the way we recover is quite similar, identical to last season.

"No, we are not going to sign anyone", said Guardiola, who joined in the City staff Christmas jumper day by sporting some festive knitwear.

It means we can draw either Atletico Madrid, Roma, Schalke or Ajax, and Guardiola is under no illusions about the size of the task that lies ahead.

Everton are now seventh in the table after making a promising start under new manager Marco Silva and City know it'll be tough if they are to bounce back from last weekend's disappointment.

"Of course, it is important".

What to watch for in Chargers vs. Chiefs on Thursday
Here or at home, whatever", Rivers said, "we needed to beat these guys". "So we have to find ways to get that done". But in a back-and-forth game with significant playoff ramifications, there was no way Hill was going to stay there.

"We make good games but we dropped four points. We must try to keep focused".

Pep Guardiola will make a late decision as to whether to include both players in his squad for Saturday's Premier League home game against Everton, but the key thing for the manager is the fact that his injury troubles are beginning to ease.

De Bruyne's last appearance was against Fulham in the EFL Cup on 1 November.

"Especially in the first one we played really good", Guardiola added. We were 1-0 down with 10 men for 65 minutes and we played an incredible second half.

Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne could return for Manchester City's Premier League clash with Everton after suffering no pain on their return to first team training. Everton have changed completely their team in terms of players - Bernard, [Gylfi] Sigurdsson, Richarlison, [Lucas] Digne, Yerry Mina.

Guardiola's City side take on Richarlison and Co.net, when they welcome the Toffees to the Etihad Stadium. It's tough after the Champions League, the players were so exhausted and we'll see how we do.
