Chris Christie Declines White House Chief of Staff Position

Following Trump's unexpected election win, Mulvaney became a key part of the administration, at one point being both the White House budget director and head of the Consumer Protection Bureau.

Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner is on the short-list of potential candidates for the president's next chief of staff, U.S. media said on Thursday.

"I look forward to working with him in this new capacity as we continue to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Trump did not end up picking Kushner as his right-hand man to replace the outgoing former Marine Corps general John Kelly.

But earlier this year, Gen Kelly, was forced to deny he had called Mr Trump an "idiot".

To his critics in Washington, the prolonged search illustrates that the chaos of the Trump administration is making it harder for the White House to function. The position does not require confirmation.

Trump added that his current chief of staff, John Kelly, will be staying until the end of the year. That move wasn't completely unexpected from those who follow the White House closely.

You can now give your Google Assistant a British or Australian accent
Although the addition of the new accents is more than welcome, they aren't exactly natural as you will see on the video below. So, how about some new accents? Now, two new voices, or rather accents, are joining the roster - Australian and British.

Mulvaney is yet another appointment of President Trump who seems to be favoring the development of the cryptocurrency industry.

"Congressman Mark Meadows is a great friend to President Trump and is doing an incredible job in Congress".

Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter and a White House adviser, praised Mulvaney, while thanking Kelly for his service.

Trump's pick generated little immediate reaction on Capitol Hill, where most of Mulvaney's allies are part of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. He replaced Reince Priebus, who had the job for six months.

The comments came shortly after former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) reportedly removed himself from consideration for the position after a meeting with Trump.

"I have asked not to be considered for this post", Christie said in a statement to reporters. Trump's plans for the role were upended when his first choice for the job turned him down.
