San Francisco radio station brings back controversial 'Baby, It's Cold Outside'

Today, KOIT 96.5 FM in the San Francisco Bay area announced the song will be back in its rotation.

A champion professional lacrosse team took a shot at critics opposing controversial Christmas classic "Baby, It's Cold Outside" by singing it during halftime of an exhibition game during the weekend.

"KOIT's listeners have spoken, and the overwhelming message is they do want to hear "Baby, It's Cold Outside" on our station, as they have throughout the years", said Figula.

The daughters of both the composer and Dean Martin, who sang the song regularly, both said they were shocked at the negative sentiments; the song is certainly not about drugging women to have sex with them, according to media reports.

"The song's lyrics describe a woman trying extricate herself from a date and saying 'no, no, no, ' while a man insists that she stays as he moves in closer, pours her more alcohol, and warns about the weather outside".

Especially displeasing to many is the line, sung by the female singer in the piece, 'Say, what's in this drink? "There are a lot homeless folks that could use energy like this to help them when it's cold outside", the person wrote.

Bringing back a "botched" amendment to her deal next week or in January would not deal with its "fundamental flaws", he said. If the vote had gone ahead as planned, the Government would have been defeated by a "significant margin" , she said.

A spokesman for WDOK on Monday told The Washington Times that the station had not changed its decision, despite a backlash from listeners who have plastered the station's Facebook page with calls for the song's return. It's a delight. The song ends with her joining him in the chorus of "Baby, It's Cold Outside". It then skyrocketed to fame after winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song in the 1949 film "Neptune's Daughter".

A statement from the company was released on Tuesday, December 11, explaining how the song had been removed from two of their holiday music streams and was being reinstated.

The public broadcaster initially said it would join Bell Media and Rogers Media and remove the song "in light of the times we are living in". "I understand the #MeToo movement and everything, I'm all for that, but we've gotta relax and have fun again".

She said she was "flabbergasted" by the controversy, saying "it's just insane".

"We will continue to play it", Ms. Timmermans said of 'Baby, It's Cold Outside.' "We have six versions of it on Great Lakes Country and three or four versions on GLOW".
