Google Pixel 3 gets big price drop offer to entice Christmas buyers

Today, Google began rolling out the December 2018 security patch to Pixel device owners everywhere, and there are lots of Pixel 3-specific improvements onboard worth noting. In India, e-SIM support will be rolled out for both Airtel and Reliance Jio for Pixel 3 in the coming months, revealed the company. It's hoped that these "certain circumstances" include the scenario of running a music app in the background while the camera is launched. The e-SIM facility will be available for Pixel customers in the USA starting today. It works on Pixel 3 (review) or Pixel 3 XL (review) and should take the price down on either 64GB or 128GB storage models.

There are a handful of changes being patched into various media apps and features across the entire Pixel phone line.

If you're looking for the code, it was sitting in the Google One app, however some users are seeing an offer being extended via email, so check the app and your Inbox to see if yours is there. Nestled in with those deals should be the Google Pixel 3 deal.

Nintendo and Marvel unite for Nintendo Switch Exclusive
Unlike recent Avengers movie tie-ins, the game includes X-Men and mutants as well as characters from the wider Marvel license. The one platform where there isn't one yet, save for a LEGO-based title, is the Nintendo Switch .

There's also a very good 12-megapixel rear camera which not only allows you to add DSLR-style depth of field to your images but also now includes a clever Night Sight mode for better photos in low light.

Finally, the last two patches in December's security update apply to Android Auto features, which expand and improve compatibility for Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 devices, as well as making overall improvements to Pixel 3 audio performance for some vehicles when using Android Auto. You will get a system update notification when it's available, at which point all you need to do is run the update.
