Eden Hazard offered record deal by Chelsea to fend off Real Madrid

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has reportedly agreed terms on a transfer to Real Madrid, with the two clubs still to agree on the terms of the deal.

Onda Madrid reported that the 27-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge in a swap deal involving Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic, a deal which could be worth more than €170million. while Chelsea don't want to let Hazard leave, they are keen on a permanent Kovacic deal and the player is also happy in London.

"He wants to play Champions League football - he hasn't this year - but if they can get that spot for next year and add a couple of top quality players then it can [help] change his mind".

Further reports in Spanish press claim Isco or Marco Asensio could be included in the deal.

Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri confirmed on Tuesday that there is an offer on the table for the Belgium star to sign and it is now only "up to him" to complete the deal.

Sarri spoke to reporters and said that Hazard's importance at the club is crucial but the Belgian's future lies in his own hands, "You know very well Eden is very important for us, like every special player".

"The club is available to sign a new contract immediately but it's up to him if he wants to renew".

Wolves stunned Chelsea to come back from a goal down and beat the Blues 2-1 in their last outing, and that result came not long after Tottenham inflicted the first defeat of Sarri's reign. Former Arsenal defender told Metro: "When Eden Hazard is on it, I do not believe there is a defender in world football who could live with him".
