North Carolina Democrat suddenly WITHDRAWS his concession

Top N.C. Republican officials said Thursday they could support a new election in the 9th congressional district only if the board uncovers "an overwhelming amount of evidence" that fraud changed the outcome of the vote or that "there is a substantial likelihood that it could have been (changed)". The board could order a new election. As I noted yesterday, the Constitution and the Federal Contested Elections Act of 1969 gives the House a range of options in dealing with such a challenge, including ordering a new election or just flat-out certifying McCready as the victor and seating him instead of Harris.

It was close, but North Carolina Republican Mark Harris was jubilant on election night.

However, he said that if the investigation shows that the outcome would not have been changed, Republican candidate Harris should be certified the victor.

Of the 1,300 or so absentee ballot requests Bladen County received, Dowless turned in nearly half of those on behalf of voters.

Specifically there are allegations in Bladen County that absentee ballots were illegally stacked in favor of Harris.

The NRCC's regional political director and point person for North Carolina campaigns, Tyler Foote, has since moved on to become Harris's prospective chief of staff.

Led by the president, Republicans nationwide have long cast themselves as victims of voter fraud.

Unai Emery Sought Advice From Manchester City Star Before Taking Arsenal Job
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that he was encouraged to take a job in the Premier League by Manchester City midfielder David Silva.

"I'm not saying that can't happen, but there is a very high probability that it did not", Bitzer told Reuters by phone, noting the absentee vote in the rest of the district favored McCready. In Robeson County, McCready won the overall mail-in absentee vote, but the 62 percent non-return rate was remarkably higher than any other county in the district.

Democratic leaders questioned their motives. It could be headed for a do-over amid a widening investigation into possible election fraud.

But the state elections board refused to certify the results last week because of allegations of "irregularities and concerted fraudulent activities" involving mail-in ballots in the district.

In Washington, the likely incoming Speaker of the House, Democrat Nancy Pelosi, hinted at the possibility that Harris' eligibility to serve in Congress would be questioned. "He is a man of honor, and integrity, and we stand by him personally". But of the voters who turned in the absentee ballots, only 19 percent were registered Republicans.

A state election board spokesman confirmed Thursday that subpoenas seeking documents had been sent to the Harris campaign, the Red Dome Group, which worked for Harris, and the campaign committee of the sitting Bladen sheriff.

In affidavits offered by the state Democratic Party, some Bladen County voters have described that people came to their homes to collect their absentee ballots, whether or not they had been fully completed or sealed in an envelope to keep them from being altered.
