The proud parents chatted happily about their children, with William telling pilots: 'I told George this morning we were going to see the pilots today, and he said "If you see a helicopter can you take a picture?"'

Posing for a holiday snap alongside military personnel who are spending their Christmas in Cyprus, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stood in for a Christmas photo at which point William basically pointed out that Kate was dressed like the backdrop. She attended a celebration for military families at Kensington Palace with Prince William, and there was even faux snow to further add to the spirit of the season.

"We know this isn't easy for you or for your wives, husbands, children, and friends back in the UK".

He said: "He saw I had some in my hand and he had a little mischievous nod and wink and looked like he wanted one to throw back at us".

But the Duchess of Cambridge looked chic in the flattering pants as she met personnel at the military base.

They met personnel from 11 and 31 Squadrons, operating Typhoon and Tornado aircraft, who have been flying missions in support of Operation SHADER, the UK's contribution to the ongoing campaign against Isis in Syria and Iraq.

While at a royal engagement in Cyprus, Prince William made sure to remind us all that while he's not the King of England (yet!) He's certainly the king of dad jokes.

They also met personnel from the lead infantry company of 2 Mercians, who have recently been supporting Op TORAL in Afghanistan. "But I can't imagine how it feels when your loved ones are away on active service over Christmas or at those special family moments", she said. "Whereas for the families at home, there's that empty chair around the table at Christmas Day where we're normally sat".

THE DUKE and Duchess of Cambridge paid tribute to military families coping with being apart from loved ones for Christmas by hosting a festive party.

William and Kate will meet Harry's dad in Akrotiri.
