America's Next Top Model star Jael Strauss dead

According to TMZ, citing sources, Strauss died in a hospice Tuesday morning.

The model began chemotherapy after her diagnosis but had chose to stop the treatment by Halloween and entered hospice care a couple of weeks later. "It has aggressively spread throughout my body and is incurable", she wrote on Facebook.

"I need another one of those miracles that I got back in 2013", she said, referring to her second chance after bouncing back from drug addiction.

Throughout her battle, she had been keeping followers up to date on social media, including that there were "so many things I never knew about life - or death" during her first night in hospice.

'I have an inner conflict, because I know that my story has helped so many people. "Or death. So many things", she wrote on Facebook about the move.

It added: "The chemotherapy has been brutal for her, and it has taken its toll on her. She brought so much light to people", her family said in a statement.

Her pals explained that because she is in so much pain she can not work and will be let go from her job and lose her health insurance.

During her time on America's Next Top Model, Strauss received particular praise for her photos, namely a shoot which saw her posing as a murder victim shortly after she received news that a close friend had died from a drug overdose.

According to her GoFundMe page, the family has asked for donations to help pay for funeral arrangements and outstanding medical expenses instead of donating flowers in her memory. "Those of us who know her understand that she is a fighter, but this fight will be a long, rocky, and definitely expensive one".

In 2013, Strauss got sober after revealing her addiction issues to Dr. Phil.

In August this year, Jael reached five years of sobriety, writing on Instagram: 'Today I have 5 years sober. Service work feels better than the greatest high.

"Guys, I heard about #jaelstrauss passing today and I'm so sad about it", Jaslene Gonzalez, who won cycle eight of ANTM, tweeted. "Thank you so much for all the love, support, & prayers through the journey".
