1003 cricketers registered for IPL 2019 auction

Just a few days ahead of the IPL 2019 auction, over 1000 players who have registered themselves for the event which is scheduled to take place on December 18, 2018.

Australian ODI specialists Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch have opted out of the IPL season next year owing to a packed global schedule. A total of 1003 players will battle it out for the 70 spots available in the eight IPL franchises.

Among other countries, 28 contestants from Sri Lanka, 17 from New Zealand and 10 from Bangladesh will go through the auction.

There are 800 uncapped players with 746 being Indians.

Among the foreign players, 35 Australians have registered themselves while 27 players are from Afghanistan.

And before we get a glimpse of the trailer of the film, the makers chose to release the look Yami will be donning in the film. Few seconds into the trailer and you will have goosebumps looking at how the makers have directed the movie.


South Africa have the maximum number of contestants with 59 of them to be bid in the auction; this is followed by 35 from Australia while West Indies are third in the list having 33 entrants.

All-rounder Yuvraj Singh has listed himself for Rs 1 crore, so have wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, spinner Axar Patel and pacers Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma. He has 30 years of experience in the field and is a renowned charity auctioneer but no wonder Madley will be missed who did the job for the last 11 years of the tournament.

Another Indian cricketer who deserves notable mention is Jaydev Unadkat, who will enter the auction with a base price of Rs 1.5 crore.

The list will be further pruned for the auction with franchises being given time till December 10 to submit their wish-list of players.
