Robben to leave Bayern Munich at end of season

Robben to leave Bayern Munich at end of season

Following his impactful contribution in last season's Bundesliga title-winning run that included a trip to the Champions League semifinals, Rodríguez has denied rumors he is looking to return to former team Real Madrid, saying instead he wants to stay with the German power.

Rodriguez told ESPN: 'It's a different situation to previous year because I'm playing less'. "It is the end of a very good and long period", the winger said.

"I can say that this is my past year (with Bayern) and it feels good like that", Robben said when speaking to reporters at a fan meeting. "I will have enough of time to think about the future and what the next steps will be".

"The club moves on and I may move on".

"This is my past year at Bayern".

Packers OLB coach Winston Moss fired same day as Aaron Rodgers tweet
Two days after he was named interim head coach, Joe Philbin fired a longtime member of the Green Bay Packers coaching staff. McDaniels has been floated as a potential candidate for the vacancies with the Cleveland Browns and Green Bay Packers.

Robben has 143 goals and 101 assists in 305 games for Bayern since joining from Real Madrid in 2009.

Robben - who has 98 goals in 198 Bundesliga appearances - has started just seven of Bayern's 13 league matches this season, in part due to a knee injury.

He scored the first two stunning goals in last Tuesday's 5-1 thrashing of Benfica which confirmed Bayern's place in the last 16 of the Champions League. During his global career, Robben and the Oranje lost the 2010 World Cup Final to Spain and came in third in the 2014 edition of the tournament behind Lionel Messi's Argentina and Philip Lahm's Germany. "There are players who have written down the history of this club".

Arjen Robben has been at the heart of nearly all of Bayern Munich's attacking play. Father time is undefeated, and for Robben it is now time to ride off into the sunset.
