Hootie & The Blowfish, 'Weird-Al' To Play The 2019 Grandstand

Minnesota State Fair officials announced Monday that the band is slated to rock the Grandstand on August 22, the first day of the 2019 fair.

The Minnesota State Fair announced its first two grandstand concerts for 2019 on Monday, but they might be mistaken for shows from 25 years ago.

The Group Therapy Tour, which will feature the Barenaked Ladies as opening act, will make 44 stops around North America, starting in Virginia Beach, Virginia on May 30. In that time, frontman Darius Rucker carved out an admirable solo career as a Nashville-brand country singer, but he apparently got the itch to record again with his old band.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, December 7th.

The band also plans to release a new album in 2019, although details are scarce.

The band scored most of its more recognizable hits off 1994's "Cracked Rear View" album. Their last official tour was in 2007.

Rucker said they hope to have a single out in the spring with a full album next summer.
