Large Griswold-style holiday light displays increasing power use and costs in B.C.

But there's still hope for this couple in Austin, Texas who used Clark's mishaps putting up his lights in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation to enhance their own simple display of mostly boring white lights.

Instead, they almost gave a passerby a heart attack! The rescue attempt was caught by the home's security camera. "And be like 'Save Clark!'" Heerlein's sister-in-law Leah Wheless said.

For some people the display looked a little too realistic because someone rushed to help thinking it was a real person - they even called 911 along with about a dozen other people. "He didn't give up".

A Texas family decked their house out with a Clark Griswold-themed Christmas display with a dummy hanging from the roof, panicking at least one passerby who tried to help the man before calling 911. "Whatever he had to do, he was going to save old Clark Griswold".

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari denies being replaced by clone
Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has denied claims circulating on social media that he is a Sudanese clone. On women representation in his government, the President told the meeting: "I have plans for all Nigerians".

According to police officers, Mr Norwood's call was not the first one police had received about the Heerlein house.

The family told the TV station they felt so bad about the man's reaction that they'd like to thank him for being so concerned.

They could hear him give his number to the 9-1-1 operator over the Nest Cam.

Luckily, the passerby, a retired veteran, had a good sense of humor about the situation once he realized it wasn't real. "Except when I started talking to him, he never said nothing!" Alfred said over the phone to KVUE.
