Trump wants 'full and complete' sentence for Cohen

But Michael Cohen, who Trump hired and worked closely with for many years, is a "weak person" who has done "TERRIBLE, unrelated to Trump, things".

President Donald Trump praised political operative Roger Stone on Monday for refusing to testify against the president in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation.

File under "18 U.S.C. §§ 1503, 1512", wrote George Conway after retweeting the president's post, listing the number of the federal criminal statute about "tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant".

Cohen, once one of the president's closest allies and a top executive at The Trump Organization, last week admitted lying in testimony about contacts with powerful Moscow figures over building a Trump Tower in Moscow.

A promise: Trump took note of Stone's weekend vow that he will never testify against the president. Trump has been accused of witness tampering after praising Roger Stone for refusing to testify in a tweet on Monday morning.

Stone also claimed that special counsel Robert Muller wanted him to "bear false witness against" the president. Earlier, he fired at his former personal attorney Michael Cohen for taking a plea deal in the case.

"He lied for this outcome and should, in my opinion, serve a full and complete sentence", Trump wrote, suggesting that the only reason Cohen "flipped" and began to cooperate with investigators was to receive a lighter sentence.

The president said: "You mean he can do all of the awful, unrelated to Trump, things having to do with fraud, big loans, Taxis, etc., and not serve a long prison term?"

This came soon after Trump fired off a couple of other tweets declaring that his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, who is cooperating with the Mueller investigation, must be making up lies and shouldn't get any leniency for his work with federal prosecutors looking into Trump. Trump tweeted on Monday morning.
