Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas marry in India's 'wedding of year'

Following the marriage, the skies were lit up with celebratory firecrackers, which lasted several minutes at the Umaid Bhawan Palace. An important part of the pre wedding rituals for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi.

Priyanka, 36, and Nick, 26, first exchanged vows in a Christian ceremony officiated by the groom's father on December 1. They will continue their wedding weekend with a Hindu ceremony today. Once again we made it our own and it was afternoon that kicked of the celebrations in the way we both dreamed. They appeared together at the Met Gala in May 2017 as they had both been dressed by Ralph Lauren, and their relationship started making headlines around a year later.

The couple both wore custom Ralph Lauren for the joyous occasion.

On Sunday, Chopra shared photos and a short video of the performances, which likely took place on Friday evening and went well into the next morning.

"The job of us bridesmaids was to make sure the bride was happy and comfortable at all times".

From their roka ceremony in August to their wedding, Nick has embraced Indian traditions whole-heartedly. One can see Nick's brothers Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas, PeeCee's brother Siddharth Chopra and cousins Shivang Chopra and Sahaj Chopra along with all of their family members and friends.

The Bollywood icon took to Instagram hours after her magical wedding at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India, to celebrate "the merging of two families" as she shared a selection of images from her Mehendi. But first, the bride and groom showed off their creativity in a traditional dance competition, called a Sangeet.

Chopra, who won the Miss World pageant in 2000, is one of Bollywood's most identifiable stars and one of the few to have achieved success in the West.

Saying "I do" is twice as nice for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.
