Adonis Stevenson In Critical Condition Following Gvozdyk Knockout Loss

"The WBC and boxing community from the world join in prayers for the safe recovery of our dear friend, great fighter and exemplary human being Adonis Stevenson", the WBC tweeted.

Stevenson entered at 9-0-1 with seven KOs in championship bouts, including his title-winning 76-second stoppage of Chad Dawson in June 2013.

"They appreciate the concern and support of everyone for Adonis".

He appeared conscious in the immediate aftermath of the fight but it soon became apparent that Stevenson was severely incapacitated and he was removed from the ring on a stretcher and taken to a nearby medical facility.

Adonis Stevenson remains in critical condition in hospital after suffering a brutal knockout defeat to Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdyk in Quebec City this weekend.

. A big right hand hurt Stevenson, who fell into the ropes again, and after another few punches the referee jumped in to stop the contest.

Apple approves India’s controversial Do Not Disturb app
This means iPad and iPhone users in India will now be able to user Trai's Do Not Disturb app on their respective devices. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ( TRAI ) had released the DND app for Android and iOS platforms back in 2016.

Stevenson blasted Gvozdyk with a solid right halfway through the 10th round at the Videotron Centre.

Gvozdyk claimed the belt in his first shot at a major title and he did it by making the trip to Canada to face Stevenson on his home soil. Stevenson tied him up, but Gvozdyk, 31, kept on charging and knocked out Stevenson, who could barely crawl out of the ring.

After ten fairly competitive rounds, Gvozdyk cranked up the offense in the 11th, and ended the reign of the long-time champion Adonis Stevenson with a snappy four-punch combo. "He was very confused when he arrived, we suspect a concussion", Gvozdyk told a press conference on Saturday night.

Stevenson was leading on two of the three judges' scorecards and was even on the third after the 10th.

In an earlier fight, Montreal's Oscar Rivas won a unanimous decision over Brazils Fabio Maldonado to retain the NABF heavyweight title.
