Stormy Daniels' lawyer arrested on suspicion of domestic violence

Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for adult film actress Stormy Daniels who says she had a sexual relationship with Donald Trump, was arrested after his estranged wife filed a felony domestic violence report.

TMZ reporter that Michael Avenatti was arrested on domestic violence charges Wednesday. The couple has a three year old child and, at last check, they were involved in a custody battle, with Avenatti demanding joint custody of the child. "Ms. Storie-Avenatti was not subject to any such incident".

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the woman's face was "swollen and bruised" when she submitted her complaint to authorities.

In addition to Daniels, his clients have included Julie Swetnick, who said she witnessed sexually abusive behavior by Brett Kavanaugh, the US Supreme Court justice whose volatile confirmation process was marked by multiple accusations of sexual assault when he was in high school.

TMZ reported that Avenatti followed his wife, shouting, "She hit me first".

Mrs. Avenatti also expressed skepticism about the report, saying in a statement through her lawyer that her husband wasn't that kind of man.

Avenatti has become a fixture on cable news and is exploring a bid for president in 2020. This was stemming from a domestic violence incident.

Avenatti did not respond to a request for comment.

After she was escorted upstairs by security, Avenatti arrived and tried to get into the building - but was denied access to the elevator by security. So it's no surprise that he was scheduled to speak to the Burlington chapter of the Vermont Democratic Party this weekend.
