Pedro Pascal May Star In Disney's Star Wars Series, The Mandalorian

Gina Carano (Deadpool, In the Blood) has joined the previously announced Pedro Pascal in The Mandalorian, the upcoming live-action Star Wars series for Disney+, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Yes, please. And now we have a good idea who's lined up to play the title character - our sister publication Variety reports that Game of Thrones and Narcos veteran Pedro Pascal is in talks for the starring role.

Now, insiders tell Variety that he has been offered the role and negotiations are underway.

The Mandalorian, which is due to premiere on the new Disney streaming service known as Disney+, has an official synopsis out in the galaxy already, albeit one that leaves plenty of details still to come. Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) is writing and executive producing, and he's recruited a stellar group of directors to tackle the individual episodes: Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). Which is all well and good but.the show has been filming for several weeks now. Now, we may know what The Mandalorian looks like under his mask.

Disney also revealed that Diego Luna's character from Rogue One will be getting his own spin-off series as well.

The Mandalorian does not yet have a release date but the Disney direct-to-consumer platform will launch in late 2019. Minor changes have been made to reflect this.
