Chiefs-Rams in Mexico City facing concerns over field

Chiefs-Rams in Mexico City facing concerns over field

The NFL announced on Tuesday that the game will now be played at the LA Coliseum because the playing surface at Estadio Azteca did not meet NFL standards. "Until very recently, we had no major concerns".

Mark Waller, the NFL's executive vice president in charge of overseeing the league's global growth, blamed "the combination of a hard rainy season and a heavy multi-event calendar of events at the stadium [that] have resulted in significant damage to the field that presents unnecessary risks to player safety and makes it unsuitable to host an NFL game".

Tickets of the moved Kansas City Chiefs-Los Angeles Rams game will become available on Wednesday, with thousands of admissions allotted to Los Angeles-area first responders.

Estadio Azteca in Mexico City has hosted soccer matches, concerts and three regular season National Football League games. Supposedly, field conditions became an utter disaster following a concert that took place just nine days before the Rams and Chiefs were scheduled to play at Azteca Stadium.

After repeated denials, Saudi Arabia finally admitted the 59-year-old had been murdered at the mission in a "rogue" operation. Karaman and others with knowledge of Turkey's audio recordings say they believe his corpse was dismembered at the consulate.

The NFL now appears to have headed off players' direct action by taking the extraordinary step of relocating the highly anticipated contest between the teams that share the NFL's best record after 10 weeks of regular-season play.

Last May, stadium authorities changed the surface from natural to hybrid. The team will now return to Los Angeles on Saturday. The Rams will announce ticket information and other details for Monday night's game as soon as possible, the league said.

According to ESPN, the Rams left for Colorado Springs on Monday to train at high altitude in preparation for the game in Mexico City, where the elevation is about 7,300 feet.
