Martial, Pogba and Mendy out of France’s key Nations League match

Martial, Pogba and Mendy out of France’s key Nations League match

The French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed on Monday that Arsenal striker Lacazette has withdrawn after a consultation between national team doctor Franck Le Gall and Gunners medical staff.

However, the Mirror claim Lacazette informed French bosses within hours that he had to reject the worldwide call-up and make himself unavailable for selection due to a minor groin injury.

Manchester City left-back Mendy has a knee sprain and has been replaced by Olympique Lyonnais defender Ferland Mendy, while Borussia Moenchengladbach forward Alassane Plea was called up for Lacazette.

Tottenham's Moussa Sissoko takes Pogba's place in Deschamps' squad.

Pogba (thigh) and Martial (abductor muscle) are unavailable for Friday's Nation League game against the Netherlands and the friendly against Uruguay on Tuesday - both matches live on Sky Sports.

California wildfires: What fires are burning now and where are they?
It has burned 105,000 acres, destroying the town of Paradise, and is about 20-percent contained, according to a Cal Fire update. He called the assertion that California's forest management policies were to blame for the fires "dangerously wrong".

However, the Manchester United striker was forced to withdraw as a result of a groin injury.

Lacazette meanwhile has so far collected 16 caps for France, scoring three goals.

With Danny Welbeck recently ruled out for several months with a broken ankle, the last thing we need is another forward being injured so I'm sure the Arsenal medical team will keep a close eye on Lacazette's groin injury during the worldwide break.

Martial was named in Les Blues squad for upcoming games against Netherlands and Uruguay after an excellent run of form that has seen him score six times in his last five Premier League appearances.
