David Schwimmer look-alike accused of Blackpool theft arrested in London

Police in London have made an arrest in the case of a suspected thief who resembles the Friends actor David Schwimmer.

The incident began last month, when the Blackpool-area police posted security images online that showed an apparent thief walking out of a store with armloads of unpaid-for beer.

But Schwimmer decided he would provide some hard evidence to back his claim, posting a video on his Twitter last month showing him in a U.S. store... carrying off a crate of beers.

Schwimmer posted a video on Twitter, saying: "Officers, I swear it wasn't me. As you can see, I was in NY", he wrote. "To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation".

He added the hashtag #itwasntme to the post.

The force referenced the catchphrase of Friends character Chandler Bing when they tweeted: "Could we BE any more overwhelmed with the response to our CCTV appeal after a theft at a restaurant in Blackpool?" Local police were quick to reply.

Khashoggi Tape Not Seen Implicating Saudi Prince, Bolton Says
After repeated denials, Saudi Arabia finally admitted the 59-year-old had been murdered at the mission in a "rogue" operation. Karaman and others with knowledge of Turkey's audio recordings say they believe his corpse was dismembered at the consulate.

One person quoted the famous theme tune by the Rembrandts: 'So no-one told me life was going to be this wayyyy'.

Lancashire police announced Monday's arrest on Twitter, thanking Schwimmer and the London Metropolitan Police for their support.

Another said: 'I heard his getaway driver was stuck in second gear'.

Police said they had identified the suspect in October and tweeted a thank you message to those who helped the CCTV image go viral.

'He is known to have studied Karate and we believe he has mastered the art of Unagi, the state of total awareness'. "We're so sorry it has to be this way".
