Satanic Temple Sues Netflix For Copyright Issues In

The Satanic Temple says in its lawsuit - which was filed in NY federal court - that it designed and commissioned its Baphomet and that Netflix's "prominent use of this symbol as the central focal point of the school, associated with evil, cannibalism and murder, blurs and tarnishes the The Satanic Temple Baphomet with Children as a mark of The Satanic Temple".

Both the Netflix statue and the TST statue feature a goat's head atop an athletic-looking male human who's seated with a boy and a girl on either side of him. The temple has sought to place its Baphomet statue alongside a representation of the Ten Commandments at the Oklahoma Capitol, and is now engaged in similar litigation against the State of Arkansas.

The Satanic Temple alleges it created the statue of the goat-headed demon - called Baphomet with Children - that's copied in the Sabrina series, which follows the story of a young half-witch torn between mortal and magical worlds.

It has since ended up in Detroit, and has become "a central icon" for satanists, TST co-founder Lucien Greaves told CNBC.

"The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" is a supernatural show produced by Netflix.

Vietnam's concept of what grand prix racing should be about matches our vision for the sport. They are very important to Formula 1, and they are very important to fans.

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" is based on the comic book series with the same name from Archie Comics.

According to its website, the Satanic Temple aims to "encourage benevolence and empathy among all people". "A lot of people who haven't heard of us first stand to just recognize that monument as the "Sabrina" monument, which dilutes and denigrates the entire project", Greaves said.

Founded in 2012, the Satanic Temple ensures the separation of church and state and holds Satan as a symbol of "opposition to arbitrary authority".

Netflix referred comment to Warner Bros., which declined to comment.
