Xiaomi's UK Launch Extravaganza Continues With £1 Smartphone Sales

Xiaomi's UK Launch Extravaganza Continues With £1 Smartphone Sales

Xiaomi entered France and Italy back in May and it has been in Spain for almost a year - where it is already established as the third most popular smartphone brand. Earlier this year in May, Xiaomi started operations in France and Italy as well.

Xiaomi is rolling out MIUI 10 stable update to more than 20 smartphones.

To recall, Xiaomi's latest MIUI 10 custom ROM was announced at the company's annual product launch event in June this year. As part of that, Xiaomi will be selling its devices here through retailers including Amazon, Three and Carphone Warehouse. Although Xiaomi hasn't categorically mentioned the markets it is planning to launch the Mi 8 Pro in the days to come.

Bionic 'Wonderland' Mushroom Unlocks New Insights Into Creating Electricity
Manoor says this network of nanoribbons is akin to "needles sticking into a single cell to access electrical signals inside it". Mushrooms as a source of power? From there, all the scientists had to do was flash a light on their new bionic mushroom .

The company's products will be sold both online and in store, including at an authorized Mi outlet due to open in London's Westfield mall on November 18.

The most striking and unique aspect of the phone is undoubtedly the glass black. I have to say, it looks incredibly cool - move over colour gradients, I want a transparent phone!

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Mi 8 Pro comes packed with a 6.21-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2248 x 1080 pixels resolution. As for the configurations, the Mi 8 Pro comes with a dual camera setup on the rear with a primary sensor of 12-megapixel for wide-angle shots and secondary sensor of also 12-megapixel. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with 6GB/ 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage. The 3000mAh battery does seem like a relatively small size for a modern-day phone, though, so it will be interesting to test how long this can actually last in a real-world environment. The two new phones will become the latest addition to the Mi 8 family here alongside the titular model which was launched in Malaysia back in August.
