Trump’s Pro-Nancy Pelosi Tweet Baffles Twitter: ‘Genuine or Nah?’

Trump’s Pro-Nancy Pelosi Tweet Baffles Twitter: ‘Genuine or Nah?’

In a post-midterm election news conference Wednesday, President Trump doubled down on his endorsement for Pelosi (D-Calif.), the presumptive new Speaker after Democrats recaptured the House in Tuesday's midterm elections.

Losing the House will test Trump's ability to compromise, something he has shown little interest in over the last two years with Republicans controlling both chambers of Congress. Some Democrats, such as the likely next House Intelligence Committee chairman, California's Adam Schiff, have indicated they want more answers on potential collusion with Russian Federation on election interference. Casten, a scientist and businessman took almost 53 percent of the vote in an area covering the northern part of Cook County, and parts of Lake, McHenry, Kane, and DuPage counties.

"Tonight, the good Lord and the people of Missouri have given us the victory - we won!" he declared.

The mother of five, who came to the job after raising her family, said she "never used to be such a braggart" but someone has to do it. Women, she says, shouldn't shy from a fight. Republicans held their grip on the Senate.

It could have been a much bigger night for Democrats, who suffered stinging losses in OH and in Florida, where Trump-backed Republican Ron DeSantis ended Democrat Andrew Gillum's bid to become the state's first African-American governor. Democrats, emboldened by their victory and rising momentum, feel confident they can withstand the White House assaults in order to weaken the president before his re-election bid kicks into high gear.

Hultgren had won his last election by 18 points. "I feel like I should sacrifice a goat to take the hex off what you just said", he added.

Underwood becomes the first female minority to represent a district covering parts of Lake, McHenry, Kane, Kendall, DuPage, DeKalb, and Will Counties.

"It's at the top of our agenda", she said. "I'm not going to Washington for a position, or for power, or for any of those constructs".

He said that "two can play that game!" But history didn't cost the GOP control of the House and history neither forced House Republicans to appease an unpopular president.

Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced on Twitter that Trump will take questions from reporters at the White House at 11:30 a.m. EST.

Democrats' blue wave was real.

'God help us!' Pair of California wildfires, spurred by high win
Fire officials have issued evacuation orders for homes in areas of Chico, Calif., which has a population of roughly 93,000 people. Heavy smoke and strong winds hampered visibility for crews on the firelines and residents trying to evacuate fire zones.

Republicans still control the Senate after Tuesday's midterms.

But just a few days after the election, many Democrats seem not to have gotten the message.

Trump said Wednesday that "if they give her a hard time, perhaps we will add some Republican votes".

President Trump says House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi "has earned the great honor" of being Speaker of the House. Joe Manchin III, even after Trump campaigned heavily for his GOP opponent. In the three races he targeted in the final day, Trump's picks all won Tuesday night, with Republican Mike Braun defeating Democratic Sen.

First, Democrats will struggle to hold Alabama Sen. But being elected as speaker in January requires the majority of the whole House - 218 votes.

Trump said Democrats and Republicans should set aside partisanship to work together for the American people.

The incoming class of lawmakers could have a stark impact on politics in the nation's capital, particularly within the Democratic Party, after a midterm election that was widely seen as a referendum on Trump's first term. They have a very long list of topics they plan to look into, including financial deregulation, Trump's business interests and Russia's election interference. But the president received negative marks from voters on temperament and trustworthiness. Almost two-thirds of voters said Trump was a reason for their vote, according to VoteCast.

Some incumbent Democrats who voted against the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court were defeated.

Returning to his immigration-heavy 2016 playbook, Trump went on to unleash his full fury on a caravan of migrants slowly making their way to the southern border.

A Democrat-controlled House will hamper Trump's pro-business agenda and could lead to uncertainty about his administration, but corporate tax cuts and deregulation measures that have played a large hand in the US stock market's rally since the 2016 election are likely to remain untouched.
