"We do not have any details or photos, but it is our understanding that the structures have burned", the park service explained. On the show, it served as the town of Escalante, which was a beta-testing location within the Westworld park.

Paramount Purchased the land, formerly part of the old Racho Las Virgenes, in 1927, and in 1953 a man named William Hertz-who'd moved to California several years earlier to become a cowboy-and his father Robert used a hunk of the land they'd recently purchased to build an old-timey western town.

A historic filming location for movies and television shows set in the Old West has burned down from the Woolsey wildfire now raging in California.

The iconic set depicting a western American town was destroyed in one of the three large wildfires devastating California.

"Westworld is not now in production, and as the area has been evacuated, we do not yet know the extent of the damage to any structures remaining there", HBO said in a statement.
