Florida Man in Crocs Invades Crocodile Pool, Gets Bitten

Surveillance video shows the man, identified as Brandon Keith Hatfield, thrashing around in the water as he's attacked.

- A Florida man was injured after jumping into a crocodile pit at an alligator park in St. Augustine. Officers said they found the man, who said he'd been bitten by a wild alligator.

"He jumped off a 5- to 6-foot structure into about 2 feet of water, then climbed up on the 20-foot structure later, which we know from the blood trail", Brueggen said.

And when he gets out, he'll be facing charges for burglary and criminal mischief.

"I think Manchester United players need to have the personality to cope with that". It didn't take a lot to convince Ashley Young .

As the park was getting ready to open Tuesday morning, workers found several lamps and signs broken, along with a toppled statue in the middle of the crocodile pit that could only be reached by swimming. They pieced together the details based on the evidence and the call reporting the suspicious man crawling in the yard.

The alligator farm is a popular tourist attraction in St. Augustine, and Brueggen said it's the first time in the 125-year history of the alligator farm that someone jumped into an exhibit.

"I would think he's on some sort of drugs", Bruggen said.

Hatfield was arrested and taken to a nearby hospital for surgery. He was later transported to the hospital, the report stated.
