Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata Leaves Square Enix, DLC Cancelled

Unfortunately for fans of the game, the stream didn't feature much in the way of good news, with Square also canceling the majority of Final Fantasy XV's upcoming DLC. Square Enix announced all four of them at the same time way back in April, and each DLC was meant to focus on a specific character: Ardyn, Aranea, Lunafreya, and Noctis.

The troubled development of Final Fantasy XV continues, even two years after launch.

Luminous was established back in March with the aim of developing blockbuster titles alongside "innovative games and entertainment", but has since refocused its efforts exclusively on triple-A development.

The departure follows a press release from the company reporting a "Booking of Extraordinary Loss" of 3.73 billion yen (approximately $33 million), which Game Industry points to being caused by strategy changes at subsidiary Luminous Productions.

Breaking Bad movie in the works - but maybe without Walter White
Gilligan told Entertainment Weekly he'd love to see a reunion of the characters Walter White (Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Paul). Breaking Bad , the AMC drama that ended its hugely successful run in 2013, is now reportedly said to be getting a feature film.

Final Fantasy XV is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. "The main objective of establishing Luminous Productions was to create a studio that can deliver a completely new AAA title to the global market".

Final Fantasy XV released in 2016 with a season pass containing extra content, but season pass holders won't be missing out, as it appears everything that was promised has been released.

A new company called Luminous Productions was formed, centred around the staff who had previously been developing the main game as part of Business Division 2, and have continued to work on the project since.

Despite the cuts to Final Fantasy XV's planned releases, Square Enix isn't turning its back on the game. We'll see what's next for Square Enix and Luminous Productions soon enough, so stay tuned for that, but head down to the comments section in the meantime to let us know if you were looking forward to the Final Fantasy 15 episodes that will now no longer see the light of day. It's not all bad news, in other words. "For that reason, I have made a decision to leave my current position and start my own business in order to achieve my goal", he explained.
