Eddie Jones calls for two on-field referees

The New Zealand Herald says that Ben Smith and Brodie Retallick were among a group of All Blacks who passed up the chance to receive free tickets from the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and instead slipped into Twickenham to sit among fans and "get some intelligence on the enemy they will face on Saturday".

"The Lions put a lot of pressure on the All Blacks in areas they didn't enjoy and were able to get them off rhythm and off tempo".

"The only people that don't understand what it's like to be a head coach of an global team are the people who've never been one", Hansen said.

It's a big challenge for us for this week, he said. "It was physical, it's probably not the style of rugby we're used to but they're extremely good at what they did".

"He's a fantastic young player, you saw that in the summer and you saw it at the weekend", added Borthwick.

"So I think it's important when you now talk about Saturday it's a totally different mindset because it's about today".

Hansen said he and the Australian speak or text roughly once a fortnight: "You don't ring up people you don't like, just because they are doing the same job as you", Hansen told a news conference on London on Monday. "I think that's important to understand". Loose forward Gareth Evans also impressed after coming off the bench for the final quarter with his ball-carrying and vision on attack, with midfielder Matt Proctor playing 80 minutes and fellow starter, flanker Dalton Papalii, doing plenty right during his 60 minutes on the pitch.

"There will be a bit of banter (among the players) I'm assuming afterwards, but everyone's pretty focused on what we do".

"You've got to play a certain way against them, there's no doubt about that". Ultimately that's going to drive a good week but it'll come down to how we execute.

Jones had bristled at suggestions Saturday's 12-11 win over South Africa at Twickenham could prove the most important of his reign as England head coach. Why does it have to be the most important game - because you guys want to sack me?

"Tom injured his ankle and we don't know how long he'll be. You will say fantastic, another bloke we can terrorise".
