Spotted: Steekers' Le'Veon Bell seen at Pittsburgh gym

Le'Veon Bell has still not reported to the Steelers to sign his franchise tender for the 2018 season.

There have mixed reports dating back to the preseason on when Bell would report to the team, with an expectation he would return to the team during their Week 7 bye. He has lost $855,529 for very week he's missed so far.

Bell, 26, hasn't played in a single game this season after he was hit with the franchise tag for the second year in a row.

It feels as though a change of scenery is what's best for Bell at this point, but an interested team clearly must be willing to open up its wallet pretty wide. If the Steelers did decide to go that route, it would be even more costly than normal.

This time, there was no late-race glitch to interrupt Kevin Harvick's domination of a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race. Rounding out the top five were non-playoff drivers Erik Jones of Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Larson of Chip Ganassi Racing.

Bell must sign his franchise tender or sign a one-year deal with the team ahead of the November 13 deadline in order to retain his eligibility for this season. As Kaboly noted, the Steelers are most likely not going to tag him at such an enormous number, which would virtually make him a free agent. It would be worth around $9-10 million and allow the team to match any offer to Bell.

But despite Bell's tweet, the Steelers still haven't heard from him and their focus remains the same with the players and coaches in the building as they prepare for Thursday's game vs. Carolina, a source told ESPN. Without Bell, the Steelers have started their 2018 season 5-2-1 as replacement running back James Connor has racked up 706 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, which are both the second-highest totals in the league.

Bell told ESPN in early October that he is staying away to preserve his long-term health for his next contract but intends to play football this season.
