Goals from Vinicius Junior and Sergio Ramos were enough to give Real Madrid a hard fought 2-0 win over a stern Real Valladolid side.

In case you didn't know.

A disappointing period under Julen Lopetegui has led to Santiago Solari being placed in interim charge, and the former midfielder has began life in La Liga with a 2-0 win over Real Valladolid.

The Welshman played for 71 minutes and mustered two scoring chances but more worryingly gave away possession 14 times for Madrid during Saturday's home win.

Still reeling from their humiliating 5-1 defeat at Barca last week, Real made an impressive start against a Real Valladolid side unbeaten in their last six outings.

Speaking about the situation, the defender said, "I honestly did not notice [the jeering], but those of us who are here the longest must take on that role".

"My pride is what has got me where I am today, and beating all the records I have beaten".

Zimbabwe AIDS-cure pastor raided by police, backtracks on claims
Police on Wednesday raided the offices of the PROPHETIC Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries led by Walter Magaya. Having carried the research outside the country (in India), I went on to announce the results unprocedurally.

The captain added, "When things don't go you have to stay calm".

"We have to lift ourselves up, we understand the fans' frustrations and why they are booing".

The game certainly showed Solari has plenty of work to do with his new side should they want to get back to their form of recent seasons, but he more than anyone will be relieved about the result.

Real Valladolid then caused hearts to skip beats as they rattled Thibaut Courtois' woodwork, before Vinicius came on and changed the game as he forced an own goal.

In fairness all of Madrid's front three struggled in front of goal, however it was Asensio who seemed the least confident and didn't do himself many favours trying to impress the new manager. "And with the results, the supporters will believe in the team again".

Real Madrid are set to face Plzen in a Champions League group game on Thursday and there is no better way to appease the Madrid fan base than by putting in a convincing performance and emerging with a comfortable win.
