According to the report, when speaking with reporters in India, Daniels told them that "We are going to be putting ads in "Status".

"The feature appears mainly developed for WhatsApp Business, but some references were found in the normal WhatsApp app too", said the website. The Linked Accounts option will be located under your profile settings. WhatsApp, in particular, is what I use for most of my daily communications with family, friends, and acquaintances. In fact, WhatsApp fellow benefactor Brian Acton who made his exit from the organization past year as of late uncovered that Facebook had plans to put ads within WhatsApp even before its procurement.

WhatsApp has stated that it will start showing adverts alongside the app's Status feature, reported The Verge.

Facebook's native advertising system would power the advertisements to WhatsApp and this would help users to understand and participate in businesses through the messaging app.

Chris Daniels, a VP at the company confirmed to Outlook India that this will be WhatsApp's future source of cash.

Early users of WhatsApp were required to pay $1 every year to use the service but the fee was later waived. The feature could be seen as a great opportunity for Facebook to monetize WhatsApp and could be a repetition of how Instagram shows ads in its Status to users. WhatsApp will bring ads under the Status section of the app.

Facebook's plan to monetize WhatsApp have for quite some time been in news.

"Currently, we're approaching monetization in two ways". We think this is an appropriate place for ads within WhatsApp.

We can presume that the targeted ads will not compromise WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption and collect data from the app directly.

The place where ads will show up, the aforementioned WhatsApp Status, launched early a year ago as a Snapchat knockoff. Status, much like Stories, allows you to publish a combination of photos, videos, text, and other in-lay elements and share them with friends.
