Tone-deaf WWE recalls Hulk Hogan for show in Saudi Arabia

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, whether intentional or not, Hogan openly admitted that he was traveling with the company to Saudi Arabia, thus all but confirming his Crown Jewel status.

The promotion is defiantly moving forward with the event despite widespread criticism that the company is prioritising cashing in over acknowledging the human rights crisis in the country after the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

After weeks of controversy leading up to the event, we're only hours away from WWE Crown Jewel which is set to air live on the WWE Network from Saudi Arabia.

Hogan, despite being 65 years of age, to this very day boasts a fan-base which extends from countries such as the US, Canada, UK, Mexico, and Brazil, to that of the continents of Asia, Africa and beyond.

"There are a lot of plans in the works", Hogan said.

WWE instead has put Saudi Arabia on mute as backlash spreads against its lucrative long-term deal with a kingdom facing global uproar.

The event is surrounded by controversy after the WWE chose to go forward with it despite an American resident and Washington Post journalist being murdered earlier this month at Saudi Arabia's consulate in Turkey.
