Kevin de Bruyne to miss Manchester derby with knee injury

Kevin De Bruyne is being assessed by Manchester City doctors after appearing to injure his left knee during the Carabao Cup win over Fulham.

De Bruyne, who has only just returned from an injury to his right knee, got caught up with Fosu-Mensah near the corner flag in the 86th minute and the Fulham defender fell heavily on the Belgian global who tried to carry on but had to go off.

The match was De Bruyne's fourth appearance since returning from his right-knee problem against Burnley on October 20, which was only his second game of the season after the win at Arsenal on August 12. "We want him, but at the end it doesn't depend on us [the club]". After several years with City, the player chose to stay with the English club at the start of this season but opportunities have proved few and far between and that could force him to seek playing time elsewhere. "We have a very good opinion of him". But his agent, and him, finally decides.

The 19-year-old's goals ensured City advance to face Leicester or Southampton in the last eight as they bid to retain the trophy. "We could've scored more goals but it's OK".

Dogs Detect Malaria by Sniffing Worn Socks
It is hoped the findings could potentially lead to the first rapid and non-invasive test for malaria with odour sensors. Alternately, articles of clothing would have to be removed and sniffed by the dogs, which is also not ideal.

With the cup game squeezed in between two Premier League fixtures in a six-day span, Guardiola took the opportunity to play many of his fringe players. "He knew that in the beginning and he chose to stay". Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero were among those who didn't make it off the bench. I don't know right now.

Diaz doubled his tally just after the hour and City subsequently eased to victory, but De Bruyne's late withdrawal may give Guardiola some cause for concern. "The Kevin we know", he said.

"Today again he was involved with everything offensively and defensively, so hopefully what happened in the last minutes is not serious".
