Upset special: Take Iowa over Penn State

Iowa (6-2, 3-2) drove to the Nittany Lions 44 in the final minute.

Iowa's biggest threats offensively were passes to tight ends sophomore T.J. Hockenson and junior Noah Fant as well as a consistent run game through sophomore running back Mekhi Sargent and sophomore Toren Young. The Hawkeyes will be on the road for only the third time this season and make their first visit to Penn State since 2016, a 41-14 loss in Beaver Stadium. Yes, there is still a tremendous amount of work still to be done, but as the team is starting to be confronted by the dreaded injury bug, new players are getting chances to show what they can do to help Penn State this season.

McSorley also spoke to the media Tuesday, and as expected, he denied that there's too much responsibility on his shoulders.

Penn State enters a brutal schedule stretch that includes Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin over the next three weeks.

Oddly enough, only four receivers caught passes for the Nittany Lions.

Last season in Iowa City, Penn State won on a walk-off touchdown pass by Trace McSorley. KJ Hamler continued to star for Penn State, pacing the receiving corps with 96 yards on five receptions.

POLL IMPLICATIONS - Penn State will move up a few spots.

Penn State's special teams were a disaster from the start of the game, giving up two safeties on botched punts.

Miller had a quieter day with just two tackles, but he didn't even need to have a spectacular day thanks to Gross-Matos' heroics. It's No. 18 Iowa that remains in the thick of the Big Ten title hunt while Penn State looks like it will have to hope to salvage a quality bowl invitation out of a disappointing season after losses to Ohio State and Michigan State.

The Nittany Lions took down IN in a close game last weekend to get back IN the win column after the back-to-back losses, but the Hawkeyes will be looking to notch their first road win over a ranked team this season and their fourth victory IN a row.
