Packers trade Pro Bowler Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the Redskins

In his four-plus National Football League seasons, Clinton-Dix has recorded a total of 300 tackles, 14 interceptions and 5.5 sacks.

Now granted, the situations aren't exactly the same, as the Redskins will now have to give Clinton-Dix a big contract to retain his services next season and beyond, but it's never that tough to swallow paying an elite player his fair market value, especially at a position that's been consistently devalued over the last few years like safety.

Montgomery's trade comes two days after he lost a fumble on a kickoff return with two minutes left in regulation and the Packers trailing the Los Angeles Rams, 29-27.

Clinton-Dix was a star at Alabama before the Packers took him with the No. 21 overall pick in 2014.

One of Clinton-Dix's picks came in Green Bay's 31-17 loss at Washington in Week 3.

Pakistan were lifted to 147-6 by Babar Azam (45) and Mohammad Hafeez (40) after Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and opted to bat. It was such a dismal outing in the UAE that the mighty Australia also suffered a 1-0 defeat in the two-match Test series.

LANDOVER, MD - SEPTEMBER 23: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix #21 of the Green Bay Packers looks on against the Washington Redskins at FedExField on September 23, 2018 in Landover, Maryland. "I love the way he plays the game". But we have a lot of bodies that have been itching to get out there, a lot of guys.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said Montgomery was supposed to take a touchback if the kickoff reached the end zone.

Although Gutekunst didn't mention any names, it can be assumed safeties Jermaine Whitehead and Josh Jones will receive more opportunities moving forward, with the added possibility of a cornerback such as Tramon Williams or Bashaud Breeland transitioning to safety, either part time or full time.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Clinton-Dix is headed to the Washington Redskins. Swearinger's role will not change with the acquisition of Clinton-Dix.

That's some pretty incredible value for a fourth-round pick, especially when you consider that the Eagles' current starting free safety, Avonte Maddox, was also selected using a fourth-round pick.
