National Football League deadline heats up with Golden Tate, Demaryius Thomas trades

Demaryius Thomas has been rumored to be on the trade block in Denver, and today, Ian Rapoport is reporting that he is being traded to the Houston Texans for a mid-round pick.

The Broncos will send a seventh-round pick to the Texans, along with Thomas, and get back a fourth- and seventh-rounder, ESPN.com detailed. Prior to Tuesday he spent his entire nine-year career in Denver.

"Demaryius had an incredible run here and we can't thank him enough for everything he's meant to the Broncos", general manager John Elway said in a statement. "Although it's tough to end this chapter, we're excited about the talent we have at the wide receiver position and wish Demaryius all the best with the Texans".

Digital services tax: What the Budget 2018 announcement really means
The personal allowance, which is the minimum income someone can earn before paying tax, will rise to £12,500 from £11,850. The cuts were criticised as "tax cuts for the rich" by shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry on Monday.

Thomas has 36 catches for 402 yards this season. He has five consecutive seasons of at least 90 catches and 1,000 receiving yards.

The Broncos knew it was going to be a matter of time before Sutton started eating up more snaps, and with a demand for Thomas' services, it made sense to move on now and free up $19 million (roughly) in cap space between 2018 and 2019.

The Texans, who just lost receiver Will Fuller V for the season, likely were a little more desperate to add a pass-catcher and meet Denver's asking price. He profiles as a top 25-35 guy who can be a weekly starting option in fantasy football (Thomas is 35th right now in rankings, and Sutton could outperform him).
