Duchess Kate Middleton Wears Princess Diana's Tiara & Earrings to State Dinner

For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge paired a Cinderella-style dress by Alexander McQueen with Lady Diana's infamous Lover's Knot tiara.

On Tuesday, Middleton wore the famous Tiara while attending the state dinner at Buckingham Palace, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

Dating from 1914 and also known as Queen Mary's Tiara, Diana famously wore it during her visit to Washington with Prince Charles in 1985, although she used to complain that it was so heavy it gave her headaches.

The Lover's Knot tiara and Queen Alexandra's wedding necklace were both on loan from the Queen. She first wore it at the diplomatic reception before Christmas, but it likely wasn't seen as just auto shots were taken publicly.

But despite the Duchess looking ultra glamorous, many Twitter users criticised her gown.

The Duchess of Cornwall, 71, was the picture of elegance in an embroidered ivory coat dress and the Queen Mother's Greville tiara, which was loaned to her by the monarch for the evening.

Where we might look to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex for unpredictability-sheer Reformation dresses, trendy sneakers, messy buns noted here-Kate is all about embracing what she knows works.

Saudi Arabia says killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi was premeditated
Saudi Arabia's powerful crown prince has called the killing of Jamal Khashoggi a "heinous crime that can not be justified". Most recently, the Saudis said Khashoggi was killed in a chokehold when he tried to leave the consulate to call for help.

British Prime Minister Theresa May was also on hand.

Their outfits were quite similar to the ones Kate Middleton and Prince William wore during a visit to the Solomon Islands in September 2012.

Kate Middleton channeled her inner Disney princess.

Kate has worn the headpiece a number of times including at a diplomatic reception in 2016, and also at a state banquet for King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain when they visited Britain a year ago. The Sussexes' new female protection officer, who remains unnamed for security reasons, made the call to leave after only eight minutes.

Queen Maxima also debuted a dramatic crown all her own, the Stuart Tiara, which has captivated Dutch royal watchers.

The visit comes 65 years after Harry's grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, visited the island nation following the Queen's coronation.
