Red Dead Redemption 2 app hits iOS and Android this week

The companion app will allow players to view real-time interactive information on their smart device while playing the game.

One employee who worked on Red Dead Redemption argued, 'we absolutely were forced to work six-day weeks in the six to nine months leading to launch, ' while another added: 'What the company values most is not the bugs you fix but the hours you put in'.

In celebration of the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, from 11.30 pm on Thursday night hungry, and probably cold, gamers can get free KFC delivered at the London, Soho branch of GAME from Deliveroo. But no matter who pioneered the idea and execution of companion apps, the one available for Red Dead Redemption 2 seems like it could very well ideal the mechanic, or at the very least innovate it to an entirely new degree.

This iceberg looks like a ideal rectangle
Speaking with Live Science , NASA ice scientist Kelly Brunt said the shapes of the icebergs are formed by a fairly common process. A giant and unusually shaped rectangular iceberg has been spotted by NASA scientists floating in the Antarctic.

Using the app can also enhance your on-screen experience, with an option to shift heads-up-display (HUD) elements to your smartphone.

Switching off the HUD is completely optional and the app, which hits both iOS and Android on October 25, can also be used to view and set waypoints on a live in-game map, track statistics, access the Rockstar Social Club, and read the character Arthur's in-game journal.

Of course, we'll have to wait until Friday to get our hands on it in tandem with the game, but the app is nonetheless an exciting and intriguing addition to an already astronomically hyped up game.
