CNN New York Headquarters Evacuated After Discovery of Suspicious Package

The FBI said Wednesday that seven suspicious packages addressed to prominent Democratic figures over the last three days containing crude "potentially destructive devices".

Sanders also responded to former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan who demanded that the president "act presidential" after the attacks.

Zucker said in a note to employees that CNN was checking its bureaus worldwide, after its NY bureau in the Time Warner Center was evacuated "out of an abundance of caution".

"There is a total and complete lack of understanding at the White House about the seriousness of their continued attacks on the media".

The package sent to CNN's New York City headquarters Wednesday forced the evacuation of the newsroom, prompting the network's president, Jeff Zucker, to condemn Trump's attacks on the media. "Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that", Zucker said as the network's NY bureau was evacuated for five hours on Wednesday following the discovery of an explosive device sent there. An envelope with white powder was also found at the scene.

China, Russia eavesdropping on Trump's iPhone calls, says report
The report says Trump has been repeatedly warned that his personal iPhone is not secure, but he persists in using it anyway. MSNBC's Chris Hayes mockingly suggested Trump should "just make every single call on speakerphone on live TV".

Amid that backdrop, some at CNN were angered by an initial tweet by Sanders that condemned "the attempted violent attacks recently made against President Obama, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton and other public officials".

Zucker decried what he called the administration's "continued attacks on the media".

But Trump has frequently been criticized for his verbal targeting of the press, sometimes calling journalists the "enemy of the people".

This comes on the heels of his appearance on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday, where Scaramucci said that he doesn't believe Kelly personally likes President Donald Trump and that he throws "hissy fits".

Campaign chairman Brad Parscale later apologized, saying it was a pre-programmed message that was not caught before news of the explosive device came out. No suspects had been apprehended as of Wednesday afternoon, and there were no reported injuries from the devices.
