76ers vs. Pistons - Game Recap

Embiid made a point throughout the game to let Drummond know he couldn't guard him, and with 42.8 seconds left in regulation, Drummond was ejected after picking up his second technical foul.

The 24-year-old posted his third consecutive game this season with 30-plus points and 10 or more rebounds on Tuesday in an impressive performance against the Detroit Pistons.

Philadelphia's Joel Embiid (left) and Detroit's Andre Drummond took the tension to Twitter.

Just before that, Embiid scored in the post on Drummond to put Philly up, 120-118. Drummond vowed revenge against Embiid in their next meeting, another Philadelphia victory six weeks later that began with Embiid telling the Pistons center "he can't shoot" and ended with the Sixers star declaring himself "the James Harden of bigs" because his flopping prowess successfully fouled out his rival. You can see that he hit me, his hand actually touched my face.

A +3 round of 74 saw him drop to four over and tied for 63rd, just one shot inside the dreaded cuf-off point. Westwood played his opening eight holes in 4 under to move into second place on his own on 7 under.

"Out of all the great players I worked with, Dirk (Nowitzki), Kyle Lowry, Kevin Garnett, Shawn Kemp, all those guys, he's playing at that high a level right now", Pistons coach Dwane Casey said. "Like I said, I feel like I own a lot of real estate in his head". Drummond responded by referencing Embiid's inability to stay healthy and play in back-to-back games in the past. "Was locking his ass up and running him to exhaustion". You decide. It appears a Lakers player already has.

Now, perhaps it's not best to brag about locking someone up when they finished the game with 33 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists on 11-of-20 shooting, but then again Embiid was talking trash after a loss, so it all evens out.

In case you were wondering, their next meeting is coming up soon.

Jackson had 23 points and Ish Smith scored 21 for the Pistons, who are 3-0 for the first time since 2015-16, the last time they made the playoffs.
