Spain not stopping arms sales to Saudi Arabia over Khashoggi killing

Spain not stopping arms sales to Saudi Arabia over Khashoggi killing

After weeks of denying involvement in Khashoggi's disappearance, on Friday Saudi Arabia said that he was killed in the Istanbul consulate, saying his death was the result of a "fistfight".

He also asserted that Saudi Arabia is determined to find the truth and is now investigating the killing of the journalist.

In a series of clips from closed-circuit television cameras both outside the consulate, in Istanbul's Levent district, and in the tourist-heavy Sultan Ahmet area, one of the Saudi suspects is seen wearing the gray trousers and black jacket worn by Khashoggi when he entered the mission.

As a columnist for the Washington Post, Khashoggi had frequently criticized the Saudi government and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia stated that in Riyadh do not know the details of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul and don't know where his body is.

Madani, 57, is of similar height, age and build as Khashoggi, and was likely used as a decoy, Turkish officials told CNN.

Turkish officials suspect Khashoggi was killed inside the consulate by the Saudi agents and his body cut up.

The team of assassins then rolled up his body in a rug and handed it over to a "local cooperator" to dispose of, the Turkish official said. The investigation is focusing on videos showing two black vans moving away from the consulate, where the murder is supposed to have occurred, towards locations now under scrutiny.

A clutch of countries, including Germany, Britain, France and Turkey, have pressed Riyadh to provide all the facts, and Chancellor Angela Merkel said Berlin would not export arms to Saudi Arabia while uncertainty over Khashoggi's fate persisted.

Statements from the agency said both the king and the crown prince expressed their condolences for Khashoggi's death.

However, there were character concerns surrounding Kelly ever since his college days, and now, this incident has come to light. He was kicked off the Clemson team in 2014 after arguing with coaches during the spring game.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has promised to reveal the findings of an investigation on Tuesday.

Her government and others in Europe have said the kingdom's explanation so far of what happened to Khashoggi at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul is insufficient.

TRT also published photographs showing Khashoggi entering the consulate wearing what appeared to be a black jacket, light gray short and gray trousers.

The Saudis have said Khashoggi was killed in a "fist-fight" at its consulate, having previously insisted that he had left the building.

The latest account includes details on how the team of 15 Saudi nationals sent to confront Khashoggi had threatened him with being drugged and kidnapped and then killed him in a chokehold when he resisted. They say they are in possession of audio and video evidence to back up the claim but have not released any proof.

He added that pressure should be applied to force the Saudi leader to put an end to the Yemen war, which has been heavily criticised for human rights abuses, including high civilian casualties.

"I'd say that right now, as an administration, we're more in the fact-finding phase", Kushner said when asked about the death of Khashoggi, a Washington Post contributing columnist, in an interview at an event in NY hosted by CNN.
