Jose Mourinho 'favourite for Real Madrid job'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho gave short shrift when quizzed on the possibility of a sensational return to Real Madrid as he prepares for a reunion with one of his old pupils, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Mourinho has since come under intense pressure at Manchester United following their poor start to the campaign, but the report claims that Madrid still regard him as a top-class manager.

Real Madrid narrowly avoided setting a new club-record goal drought as they fell to their fourth defeat in five games with a 2-1 loss to Levante at the Bernabeu.

"All I'm thinking about is Manchester United".

'I'm happy to see out my contract and I would like to stay after my contract.

'No i am happy here, ' said Mourinho, in a press conference before United's clash with Juventus.

Meanwhile, Mourinho confirmed Alexis Sanchez will miss the game against Juventus after he was absent from United's pre-match training session on Monday morning. Marouane Fellaini, Jesse Lingard, Diogo Dalot, Scott McTominay and Phil Jones are also missing.

He said: 'I don't like this press conference.

Ianni goaded Mourinho after Ross Barkley's stoppage time equaliser - something Sarri was forced to apologise for after the game.

Keylor Navas has started Champions League games ahead of Thibaut Courtois this season and that will continue to be the case.

"If you want to see a dejected coach then don't look here".

"So I hope everybody does the same as I did which is not to disturb a career of a young guy which is probably a great guy, is probably a coach of great potential and I'm not happy with it more than that".

"I think he deserves a second chance not to be sacked and he went to a situation that in the end he recognised he was wrong". But I would like the boy to go through more than that.
